A very heart-breaking event occurred to the Weronick family just today. Their 3-year-old toddler, Cassandra Weronick escaped the house at 3 am this morning. Just dressed in a t-shirt and a diaper, the child was found a half a mile from their home, frozen to death! Tuesday night’s harsh and frigid cold had frozen the toddler. And out of all the nights, she chose one of the coldest nights of the year to flee. It has been said, Cassandra has done this before, however, was found. Police say that the child knew how to open the door and left. With the dog’s barking, her mother woke and checked the door which was open. She locked the door, but did not bother to check on her child as well. A very unfortunate tragedy happened to this family today.
